                   About me

My name is Jerry Tyson. I was born to Edith Tyson on September 18,
1971. I am the youngest of nine kids. I have a twin brother. His name is
Larry Tyson. I also have four other brothers and three sisters. My
brothers names are Larry, Dwane, John, William (JR), and Bill. My
sisters names are Patricia Capper, Barb Ulbrich and Glenda
Richards. When I was a kid we lived on Brookfield Avenue on the
southeast side of Lisbon, Ohio. We did not have a lot when I was
growing up. But it was good that way. Me and my friends spent a lot of
time fishing and playing in the Little Beaver Creek. It was cheap and a
lot of fun too. I can remember when Matt Holand, Jay Perrino and I
chipped large chunks of ice loose just above Pondi's and floated for
about a mile or so. That was fun! We would spend all summer fishing
at the creek.
My role models
My Mom of course. She is the strongest person I know. She did the
very best with what we had, and it was very little. Growing up with her
for a mom was great. Next on my list is my brother John. My earliest
memories are of John picking me up and taking me 'coon hunting with
him. It was the time of my life. I will say that he is the reason that I love
to hunt, and that I am so good at it. Some of my best role models are
school teachers at Lisbon's David Anderson High School. There are
three that stand out in my mind and helped me become who I am
today. The first one is Mark Chronister for his toughness and hard
nose teaching style.
Mark was my shop teacher. He is a good man and
was a great teacher.  Mark is mostly responsible for giving me the skills
to become a hard worker. My first camera was a box camera
that we
made in shop class
.  When I say box camera I mean a cardboard box
with a hole in it.  In school one day Mark had us put a hole in a
cardboard box.  We made a dark room
and put the film in the back of
the box in the dark room.  Then we took the box out of the darkroom
with our finger over the hole. We uncovered the hole to expose the film.

Then we went back into the dark room to develop the film.  I wish I still
had that picture!
Next on my list is Jim Watt for his wit and knowledge of
science and fishing.  Small things I remember about Jim.  Send me to
get his lunch at lunchtime
(tuna on wheat). Doesn't seem like much but
it was.  Going fishing with me, to one of my favorite fishing holes, and
science class was always fun. Last but not least Debbie Glen for her
heart. She truly cares about everyone.  Debbie was one of those
people who always believed in you.  She knows how to treat individual
people.  With love, care, hard-nosed if needed, and so on.  These
people are the ones responsible for giving me a good foundation to
build on.
Thank you to all of you!!!

I got married on August 5, 1995 to the love of my life, Anna Rayle. We
had our first child on August 11, 1996. His name is Doug Tyson. We
named him after Doug Flory. Doug was my best friend and best man at
my wedding. Doug passed away just days after my wedding in an
accident. My world almost stopped. Doug was too young. My second
child, Emily Tyson, was born on November 11, 1999. We got to pick her
name from a book, and I was happy for that. The kids are growing up
so fast.
Today I am the owner of
The Chimney Man. It is a chimney sweep
company that services Columbiana and Mahoning counties and more.
We started The Chimney Man in the summer of 2001. All is good with
that. In the past two or three years I have grown more attached to my
home town of Lisbon, Ohio. This comes from lots of good memories
and lots of good people. Lisbon, Ohio is truly a good place to live and
the reason for the things I do with the community, and this web site.
